We were going to camp on lovely Mount Shasta but snow was covering Panther Meadows and large pellets of hail were falling when we got up there. We filled our water bottles in the city park from the 'headwaters' - spring water from right out of the mountain. We did this in Napa with water from Mount St. Helena too. Amazing water... Anyway, we headed on up to south central Oregon that day instead and camped in a national forest near a river and near Klamath Lake. Unfortunately we were unable to find where they harvest the bluegreen algae there. Went for a nice bike ride out in the boondocks.
